Casual gamer, come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right. Yep, one of the most popular television game shows has gone interactive with Ludia's first computer game offering, The Price is Right, that looks and plays like the real deal - though without Drew Carey or Bob Barker.

As you'd expect from a game like The Price is Right, you first choose a contestant and give him or her a name. You can't create your own but can choose from one of four characters (two males, two females). After typing in your name, the camera pans across the overly excited audience and naturally, you've been picked to "come on down" to be a contestant.

Similar to the TV show, the goal of the game is to win as much money and prizes as you can before getting three red strikes.

Contestant's Row is the first part of the game, where you and three other contestants must guess the price of a product without going over; whoever gets closest to the actual price gets to jump onstage and partake in three other games. For example, if you guess $500 for a patio heater from Desa - and yes, these are all real-world products in this game - and the actual price is $525, you'll likely win.

If you win Contestant's Row you get to play one of 16 different pricing games, ripped right out of the television show, such as Cliff Hangers, Punch-A-Bunch, Hole In One, Range Game, Master Key, Push Over, Freeze Frame, and so on. Most of these challenge you to guess the real price of a real product - like Scott's bathroom tissue paper or a Ghirardelli chocolates collection - with some slight variation. In Plinko, for example, you must guess if the left or right number in a two-digit price for a product is (e.g. $35) correct; then you get to drop coins down a Plinko board and hope it falls into the $10,000 slot instead of the $0 slot.

After you win a pricing game you can then test your luck by spinning The Big Wheel, with the aim to get as close to $1 dollar as you can without going over. If you land on, say, 85 cents, you might opt not to spin again, but you can spin twice. If you win against other contestants you finally play the Showcase Showdown. You know the drill: Rich Fields, the announcer, tells you about all these elaborate prizes like trips and cars, and are complimented by short video clips of real The Price is Right girls showing them to you. You must guess the value of the entire prize pack without going over. Be closer to the real price compared to your opponent and it's yours...

Review from: Casual Gameplay

Come on down! You're the next contestant on The Price is Right! One of the oldest televised gameshows still in production today, The Price is Right has seen several dozen seasons in the United States and is broadcast in almost as many countries (OK, il prezzo è giusto!, anyone?). That's a whole lot of people sitting in their living room trying to guess the price of a wine rack with removable shelves. Now, developer Ludia is bringing the same formula to the casual gaming realm, dropping you front row center as one of the contestants!

The Price is Right is a gameshow centered around guessing the prices of various retail items. From paper towels to dinnerware to cars, you'll come across a huge variety of things, some easier to peg than others. Each game begins with a showdown between you and three other contestants (computer-controlled in single player mode, but you can get some friends in on the fun, too!). A fully-voiced announcer describes each product in detail along with a short video clip from the television show. Then, enter your guess for the item's retail value. The contestant who comes closest without going over wins and earns the chance to win even more money.

After the price war is over, you'll participate in one of nearly two dozen minigames culled from the gameshow. Cliffhanger is here (you know, the yodeling hiker guy), along with Master Key, Range Game, Hole in One (or Two), and yes, Plinko! Each game is a variation on the price guessing theme, and the possible winnings vary with the level of difficulty. After completing one of the games, winners will move on to the Showcase Showdown, spinning the famous wheel just before the final competition begins.

Analysis: I'll admit, The Price is Right does command a bit of nostalgia for me, as it seems the show was always on TV in the background of my youth. Part of the reason this game is so fun is because it captures the show so well, only now you can actually participate instead of just yelling at the screen. My first few minutes playing taught me something very important: apparently I'm terrible at guessing prices...

Say goodbye to your significant other, drop the dog off at the kennel and prepare to kiss your free time goodbye... Slingo Quest Hawaii, latest in the multimillion-selling series - and the first and best to successfully fuse the two all-consuming pastimes of slots and bingo - is finally here, and it's about to rearrange your entire life. Just one caveat: Much as newcomers can't help but be charmed by the outing, series veterans should expect simply incremental, not revolutionary, gains over past iterations, making it a welcome, albeit hardly earth-shattering upgrade.

The reason we put forth such caveats? Both much and little have changed since the last installment, depending entirely how you look at it. Core gameplay remains largely the same, as the action essentially still consists of several randomized spheres that appear beneath a grid-shaped, bingo-style card filled with numbers lurking above. Your chief goal once again: Given just 20 spins, pair as many of these digits with figures contained in the column directly atop them in hopes of creating horizontal, vertical, diagonal or patterned matches (slingos) that stretch across the entire board.

The main differences here since prior romps simply being as follows: A sizable number of new settings (e.g. coral reefs, sunken ships, and islands ranging from Maui to Oahu); fresh bonuses (which let you see power-up-containing tiles or instantly fill entire rows); and original play elements (i.e. collectible tricks and added game modes), which definitely add to, but don't tremendously boost enhance overall enjoyment factor.

As always, production values remain sky-high, from brilliantly animated and brightly-colored boys, girls, turtles, talking Tiki-men and other catchy background elements to point-thieving devils who cackle with glee and the chubby-cheeked cherubs who chase them away. The learning curve couldn't be simpler for all ages either, and the game slowly but steadily adds new twists and turns (such as spins you must pay for, score-boosting/-halving treasures, hyper-fast Speed Slingo or challenging head-to-head Slingo Volcano variants) as it progresses...

Popular game Slingo Quest returns for a different destination. In Slingo Quest Hawaii, the game takes on a (what else?) Hawaiian theme. In the bingo slash slot machine game, players try to match numbers in a row while earning power ups, jokers, tricks, and bonuses to help them along the way.

Players travel from island to island in Quest mode similar to many of the time management games where trails contain dots indicating your progress. Classic Plus mode works like arcade mode where players repeatedly play the game.

The game relies on luck and little else to get Slingo, five matches in a row. However, you win bonuses for making patterns and clearing the board. The hardest part is clicking the numbers, picking power ups, and using tricks. Otherwise, the game takes little effort. Those who like Slingo Quest will delight playing this tropical edition since it contains more of the original plus new features...

Review from: GameZebo

Let me be frank - my primary associations with golf are Tiger Woods, the American medical profession, and horribly funny clothes. Cashmere cardigans I can live with, but who on Earth decided plaid pants are posh? Never mind the question. Golf is growing in popularity, and it's no surprise that a golf themed solitaire game has finally cropped up.

As Fairway Solitaire opens, you start off as a duffer at the Golf Academy. Your goal - fill up your mantle place with trophies, and ultimately golf your way to Grand Champion.

Playing is easy. Click on cards which are one number higher or lower than the foundation card at the bottom of the screen. Suites don't matter. If there are no cards that apply, click on the draw pile to deal a new card. The "hole" is over when you have used up the draw pile. The cards which remain in the layout determine your score for that hole. So, for example, if you have 5 cards left, your score for that hole would be 5. A perfect score is achieved by clearing all of the cards. If you make a mistake, you can click the "Mulligan" button to undo it - but use those carefully, since you only start with one per hole.

At the end of each hole, you are taken to a scoreboard to review your stats. Aside from the score, you will also see the par. In golf, a par is a predetermined number of strokes that a golfer should require to complete a hole. In the game, your number of strokes is determined by subtracting your hole score from the par. If you finish under par, you are given a cash bonus...

So the story tells you that you are trying to make your way to golf Grand Champion and you do that by playing solitaire game. The game itself is pretty easy. There's a card at the bottom of the board and you are to click on the cards one number higher or lower among those that are just before you. Suites don't matter here. In case you are out of cards to click use the draw pile to deal a new card. The level or rather the "hole" is complete once you've used up all the cards in the pile...

Review from: jayisgames

Fairway Solitaire is a new casual card game that (miraculous as it may seem) blends solitaire with golf. Don't let that trick you into thinking it's a dull game filled with white gloves and whispering announcers. Fairway Solitaire is as funny, bright and entertaining as any casual game out there. And with its slightly new take on some familiar themes, it's worth heading out on the green and sinking a few holes.

Several rows of cards sit face-down on the screen with the bottom ones turned face-up. A deck with a single key card at its side rests at the bottom. The goal is to eliminate cards by placing them on the key card, but you can only remove cards that are one above or one below the key card value. For example, if the key card is a five of hearts, you can slide a four or a six of any color or suit on top of it. Move as many cards as you can before clicking the deck for a new key card. When the deck is depleted, the round ends. The game holds your hand for a number of rounds (or "holes") to get you warmed up, but you'll get the hang of things very quickly...

Review from: The dimond games

Playing sports was my thing while growing up, but it was mainly team sports like softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. However, I took a few classes or lessons in single player sports like gymnastics, golf, and tennis. Golf just didn’t fit me as holding a club felt awkward. Maybe it was because it was too different from holding a bat. But one golf game that I played numerous times was the card version.

I couldn’t believe I never got bored playing basic solitaire golf that came with Windows in the mid-’90s. I even loaded the game on my Palm handheld and played that for a long time. Since then, I got too busy to play the solitaire game.

Furthermore, after becoming a game reviewer, I didn’t have the luxury of sticking with a game for a long time. Whenever I played a game past my bedtime indicated a sign that a game was a hit and I blamed Fairway Solitaire for my recent tiredness.

The basic game isn’t good enough today. Most of your favorites probably have newer versions containing power ups, trophies, and other bonuses. Solitaire golf receives the same treatment.

The power ups show up in the golf shop. As you play each hole, you earn bucks to use in the golf shop for power ups. For a female golfer, buying a skirt provides her with the ability to x-ray a card to see through it...
